Matthew's Bill Update

Hello fellow advocates! Recently a new class has been introduced to Matthew's Bill. Some of the things that we have done include: setting up posters, buttons, signs, and crowdfunding to support Matthew's Bill. We also have a senate committee hearing scheduled for November 18th, 2014. During these last few weeks we have had three guest speakers. They include Matthew, Mr. Krammer, and Mr. Mead. Mr. Kramer was from the Access Center for Independent Living (ACIL). He talked to us about the fact that some bathrooms don't have proper accommodations and how that affects the ability for those with disabilities to live independently. Mr. Kramer also talked to us about the training the ACIL offers to employees of various companies so that they can experience some of the things that those with disabilities experience on a daily basis. The other guest speaker that we heard was Mr. Mead, a policy analyst. He talked to us about how he advocates for us and those with disabilities. Mr. Mead gave us some names and various places to contact for support in our endeavor.
